Leonard E. Peters

Mr. Peters obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from the University of Houston, graduating magna cum laude with honors from the Order of the Coif and the Order of the Barons, and was admitted to practice law in Texas in 1997. Since being admitted he has worked at several firms in Houston, where he worked on projects ranging from complex civil litigation to appellate work. In 2001 Mr. Peters decided to open an office in his adopted home town of Columbus, Texas, where he has practiced ever since handling a wide variety of matters and working closely with his clients to solve their real world problems.

Mr. Peters has been honored as the Favorite Attorney among the readers of the Colorado County Citizen in many years, including from 2011 to 2013 and again in 2017. Mr. Peters has also voluntered his time and talents for the Columbus area Habitat for Humanity for many years. From 2006 to 2007 Mr. Peters held the position of President of the Columbus Chamber of Commerce. Currently he resides in Columbus with his wife of 32 years, Sheri Peters, his four children, Aaron, Michael, Zach, and June Ji, and since 2003 has dutifully served the residents of Columbus as Municipal Judge.

Michael K. Peters

Michael Peters obtained his Doctor of Jurisprudence from St. Mary's University in San Antonio, Texas, graduating summa cum laude with honors from the John M. Harlan Society, in 2015. While at St. Mary's, he served on the St. Mary's Law Journal. He was admitted to practice law in Texas in November of that same year. Since becoming licensed Michael Peters has primarily practiced family law. In 2025 Michael was honored to be voted the Favorite Attorney among the readers of the Colorado County Citizen. Michael Peters serves as the Associate Municipal Judge of Columbus, Texas and sits on the Board of Directors of the Columbus Historic Preservation Trust, Inc., a non-profit dedicated to the preservation of Columbus's unique history.

Michael married his wife, Tiffany, in May 2017 and they have two daughters and a son, Katie, Alice, and Isaac.
